Bunch of Men
04:54
|
|||
We've got to get away
from all of this bad human weather.
We've got to get a way
to take the patriarchy down together.
You bunch of men set a bunch of men
to the moon just to prove it was really there.
Oh, but who cares,
the rest of us knew it all along.
We can feel it in our blood.
I can feel it in my blood.
Can you feel it in your blood?
Watch out for my love.
You bunch of men sent a bunch of men
off to war again and again and again.
You bunch of men, can you please tell me what for
again and again and again?
You bunch of men,
you sent a monkey to space.
the human race
was won by apes.
Oh, but who cares,
the rest of us knew a.ll along.
we can feel it in our blood.
can you feel it in your blood?
Cuz I can feel it in my blood.
Watch out for our love.
You bunch of men,
what do I do
when I look like you?
Got your face and your machines and your blood too.
You bunch of men,
ugh, what do I do?
I don't know, rock and roll?
we knew it all along cuz I can feel it in my soul.
Can you feel it in your soul?
Oh but who cares.
it's only rock and roll,
I can feel it in my blood.
I can feel love in my blood.
Can you feel it in your blood,
you bunch of men?

Keeping Time
03:23
|
|||
Time is a social institution and not a physical reality.
There is, in other words, no such thing as time in the natural world,
the world of stars and waters and mountains and could and living organisms.
There is such a thing as rhythm.
I drink all night so that I won't dream.
I pulled the old jack of diamonds when I played my queen.
But my soul is lost somewhere between the two and the ace.
I turned myself into a clock
with my hands on my face.
I'm keeping time everywhere there's no space.
There's a sundial in the back of my mouth.
I'm breathing shadows every time I face south.
I saw the truth of the sun in the light of the moon.
I'm keeping time from running away with the dishes and spoon.
I'm keeping time everyone where there's no space.
You must have said fuck the clock at least a hundred times past.
But I'm keeping time now that you've made me out of glass.

Oh my love
Make me out of glass
So my heart, you could so easily smash
against the wall.
Oh my love, I want to be your dress
so can hold you while you weep and dance
In the hall.
I want to be your bicycle
and your can lock me up outside in the rain
but just the same for you I'd ride
with rusted chain.
Oh my love,
I am your empty glass by the bed
and in the morning drink me.
I'm ready to be drunk again.

Nature Machine Chicago, Illinois
A collage of politics and poetry, Nature Machine takes itself with a large grain of salt. Nature Machine is a dance party on the tightrope between creation and destruction. Art is pointless and everything is frequency. Death is real and grooving is imminent. Time is a social construct. Wink. ... more
